What It Takes To Be a Man of Morehouse
Morehouse College loves to pride themselves on the myth that they produce well-made men.
Let me give you a second to absorb that in.
Yes, men. Morehouse believes that they produce men who are mature, respectful, well-read, well-spoken, well-traveled, well-dressed, and well-balanced, which in a few cases they do. However, it is a good thing that a belief is a means of having faith in something, because they are going to need all the faith they can get to keep on thinking that they are the crème de la crème of the black male population. In truth, these so called “men of Morehouse” are far from the perceptions that they try to elude when they wear their maroon blazer. The college’s most fond possession, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is probably turning over in his grave at the sight of the disgracing actions of his fellow Morehouse brothers.
If by now you ca not stomach what I am saying, please read something else because it is only going to get more real from here. With Morehouse being the number three HBCU, it is apparent that it takes a lot to become a man of Morehouse. You know, you have to try and be a party promoter, a pot head and you have to make sure you can gossip better than a female can—that is the most important thing.
